
Zach Mercurio
Dr. Zach Mercurio is a researcher, author, and speaker specializing in purposeful leadership, mattering, and meaningful work. He wrote The Invisible Leader and The Power of Mattering (Harvard Business Review Press, 2025). Zach has worked with global organizations including the U.S. Army, Delta Airlines, Marriott, and the Government of Canada to build cultures where people feel valued and motivated. He is also one of Simon Sinek’s Optimist Instructors, teaching how leaders can show people they matter. Zach earned his Ph.D. from Colorado State University, where he serves as a Senior Honorary Fellow in the Center for Meaning and Purpose. His award-winning research has been recognized by the Association for Talent Development and the Academy of Management. He lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with his wife, two sons, and two adopted dogs.
